In this modern Internet Age, Americans have become accustomed to being a quick keyword search and click away from just about any information they desire.
The perpetually upgraded super computers we hold in our hands have lightning-speed access to a virtually unlimited treasure trove of knowledge.
The areas of health, nutrition, and fitness are especially abundant in educational resources.
Online fitness gurus with countless tips, healthy cooking videos, website upon website of amazing recipes… an endless menu of options if you’re looking to get you – and your family – healthy.
With all of this information, and all of this expertise at our fingertips, we should be healthier than ever before as a society.
But that’s not the case.
With adult obesity surpassing 40%, childhood obesity nearly tripling since 1980, and more than 100 million(!) Americans living with diabetes or prediabetes, the answer to our health concerns clearly does not depend on mere information alone.
If anything, we’re suffering from overwhelm.
Too much to take in, resulting in OVERLOAD and leading to “Analysis Paralysis”.
But we cannot – and SHOULD NOT – give up!
There IS HOPE to turn things around.
My name is Lawrence August.
I’ve spent over 30 years educating myself on health, nutrition, diet, exercise, and wellness.
For over 20 of those years, I’ve worked professionally in the Health and Nutrition industry, including being the sole Nutrition Counselor for the busiest private solo medical practice in Los Angeles, along with serving as Board Vice President for one of the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations in the prevention of childhood obesity.
What these years of accumulating knowledge and experience have taught me most is that REAL CHANGE comes down to BASIC BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION.
As stated earlier, no amount of information in the world will mean much without actually APPLYING that information into meaningful habitual ACTION.
Yes, food is important.
Yes, understanding elementary nutrition principles is important.
Yes, you and your family can benefit from some handy recipes and a good fitness plan.
But to GENUINELY created LASTING CHANGE… this takes a fundamental shift in both mindset and daily routine management.
Specifically, when it comes to children (especially under the age of 12), it is CRITICAL to understand the need to address root behaviors and establish healthy eating and exercise patterns that will endure for a lifetime.
Our children are exposed to a daily barrage of messages and influences that are undermining their health – physically, mentally, and emotionally.
What I can offer is the ability to help you identify these cultural culprits, isolate the effects they are having on your child, and begin to re-shape and leverage existing behaviors, creating positive change that not only can carry over into eating and exercise, but improved academics and social interaction as well.
When a child is empowered to make great choices, and begins to build self-confidence through the results of those choices, REAL CHANGE HAPPENS.
Knowing that every story is unique, I would love to hear yours.
Feel free to drop me a line and share the challenges and struggles you might be having at home.
I’ll give you my thoughts and we can have a 20 minute Introductory Session – no charge – to see if we’re a good fit to work together.
I have been very blessed to have been able to be of service to so many families throughout the years.
It will be an honor to help you and your family as well.
In Health & Gratitude,
Lawrence August
